Former Troy Rector Takes Stand On Religious Issue
An Ohio Episcopal bishop and former rector of St. John’s Church in Troy urged consideration of church membership in presidential candidate talks. Bishop Nelson M. Burroughs said the Roman Catholic issue involves both state and faith, urging leaders to possess deep spiritual insight while voters weigh November 8. He insisted religion should be a personal concern and framed the presidency in terms of moral responsibility and global stewardship.
