Town Pump Supplies Water For Northern Iowa Town
In a northern Iowa town of about 20 people a street pump in the middle of Main Street serves as the main water source. For 35 years residents have used the municipal well, with some homes retaining their own wells yet relying on the street pump for drinking and cooking water. Fire trucks draw water from the nearby Wapsipinicon river.
