Printer Dies In Hospital After 33 Years With Times Record

Howard D. Green, 57, veteran Times Record printer, died unexpectedly yesterday at Veterans Administration Hospital in Albany where he had been a patient for a little over a week. He lived in Troy and served as a Navy hospital corpsman on Guam during World War II. Surviving are his mother, a daughter, and three grandchildren. Funeral set for 11 a.m. tomorrow at River View Funeral Home with burial in Oakwood Cemetery.

Large Eggs Seen As Best Bargain In County Report

Rensselaer County consumers find large eggs the best bargain as prices fall to the lowest level since May 1959, with medium and small eggs also affordable. The Market Information Service notes ample supplies of carrots, sweet corn, yellow onions, artichokes and radishes at low wholesale prices, while old crop potatoes remain a modest buy.

Girl Scout Banquet Highlights Local Troops and Leaders

A mother daughter banquet brought together Brownie and Girl Scout Troops 403 533 and 498 at the American Legion Hall. Mrs Richard J Fox Troop 403 leader welcomed guests Rev Charles V Dammann gave the invocation and thanks were voiced to Rev Russell F Pater and Father Dammann for support of Girl Scouting in Wynantskill. A flag ceremony led by Troop 478 members was performed. Each girl received a one year membership star while Troop 533 and Troop 478 provided lists of recipients. Also noted was a Dinner Dance by the North Greenbush Democratic Club with Atty M Andrew Dwyer Jr as principal speaker and The Aristocrats providing music. Junior Girl Scout Troop 23 planned a meeting at First Reformed Church Fellowship Hall.
