Bloodhound duo aid missing-person hunts in California
A Fresno couple credited Russell Cane and his pack of bloodhounds with locating missing individuals across rugged terrain from Santa Cruz to the Sierra Nevada. Trained dogs track scents up to four days old, often crossing water, hills, and desert as Cane and handlers guide them on multi-hour searches. The team has worked on ~115 calls since 1950, including a 6 hour search that found Randy, a Barefoot boy, eight miles from his cabin.
