Rexford Women Award Scholarships to Two Local Students
Rexford Women’s Club awarded scholarships to Miss Donna Marx daughter of Mr and Mrs Charles Marx Rexford and Miss Linda Boyce daughter of Mr and Mrs Lester Buyce Rexford. Marx, a junior at State University College at Plattsburgh majors in commuter programming and has a recent State Federation of Women’s Clubs scholarship. Boyce, a Niskayuna High School student admitted to SUNY Potsdam as a musical major, has played principal cello in regional programs and was chosen to perform at Carnegie Hall with the American Youth Performers. The club will donate to Clifton Park summer youth recreation and provide 50 folding chairs to John McLane Hose Co Rexford, plus a speech-defects aid program. New officers were elected and a June 14 banquet at the Golden Fox Albany announced with Miss Boyce as guest soloist.

The funeral of Francis J. Flanagan was yesterday at Frank P. McDonald Funeral Home and St. Augustine's Church. A Requiem High Mass was celebrated by Rev. Eugene A. DelConte with Deacon Rev. Thomas W. Behan and subdeacon Rev. Arthur J. O'Neil. Bearers included Frank Marbot, John Marbot, Timothy Flanagan, Walter Lipka, William Hansen, and William Hodges. Interment followed at St. Peter's Cemetery.
