Banquet Held by Church Women Honor Mothers and Daughters

The Women's Society of Grace Methodist Church hosted a Mother Daughter Banquet in the church parlors Monday night. Mrs. Alvert Spendaff presided. Miss Mary Davie gave the invocation and Mrs. Rachlin Mears spoke to the daughters. Mrs. Richard McBain sang Ave Maria. A contest recognizing words from the Mother and Daughter letters was won by Mrs. George Cropsey and Mrs. Henry Wheeler. Anna Van Der Voort, 91, was the eldest mother. Several three generation families attended. chairs and decorations were arranged by Mrs. J. Lawrences Mungon, Mrs. Mary Mayst, and others.

Man Fined After Rain Soaked Doorway Assault

Elmer Ellsworth of Wile Tiamiatown Massachusetts pleaded guilty to assault and was fined $25 for pushing Edward Cadron of North Adams and knocking him to the floor in a doorway during a rain soaked incident. He entered a doorway and struck Cadron before stomping, police said.

Troy Post Rooms Redecorated and Memorial Day Opening

The Ameri can Legion hall in the Rand Building will reopen on Memorial Day after renovations. Members and their families were invited to inspect the newly decorated quarters, following a meeting in Troy last Monday night. Franks MaGnwan reported on a national cemetery campaign, and Marl W. Caons announced baseball term successes with Charles D. Reim named treasurer. Three new members were admitted to the post.
