Rensselaer Woman 34 Dies in Germany and Army Major Died Nearby

Mrs. Caroline Towey Arakelian, 34, wife of Arakelian of 180 Summit Avenue, Germany, and US Army Maj. Robert Arakelian of Rensselaer died suddenly. Mrs. Arakelian, born in Yonkers and longtime New York Telephone Co. employee, lived in Troy and attended St. Joseph's Church. The pair were in Albany Medical Center Hospital for care.

Besides her husband she is survived by six daughters Nora Nancy Theresa Mary Ellen Barbara Jo and Carol Lynn her parents Mr and Mrs Charles A Towey of Rensselaer a brother Charles A Towey Jr of Rotterdam and two sisters Mrs William Grande of Albany and Mrs John Tubbe of Rensselaer Funeral will be held at Leahy Funeral Home 336 Third Street and at 9 30 from St Joseph Church with a Requiem High Mass. Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery Troy.

The Newsletter of the Rensselaer Board of Education masthead was codesigned by Troy resident Miss Philomena Prezio, an art teacher at Fort Crailo School and School 2, with Miss Helen Morgan, School 2 principal. East Greenbush Garden Club Plans Flower Show

The East Greenbush Garden Club will host its sixth annual flower show at the Christian Education Building of the Reformed Church on Columbia Turnpike East Greenbush. The event runs Saturday June 17 from 2 to 9 p.m. and Sunday June 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. The show theme is A Mystery Anthology. General chairman is Mrs Merwin Smith.

East Greenbush Honors Retiring School Aides and Board Actions

East Greenbush Central School District plans a retirement party for Howard L. Goff chief administrator since 1947, Florence Hall a 1938 veteran fourth grade teacher, and Jesse Pelton a fourth grade teacher since 1936. The board reviews Leavitt site purchase in June. resignations from nine educators noted with six new hires, and a need for 16 elementary and seven secondary teachers reported.

Managers Appointed By League In Three Little League Divisions

Ronald McCormick, president of the Rensselaer Little League, named managers for the Majors International and Pee Wee divisions. Majors include Edward Kolodzynski with Rensselaer Victory Club, Thomas Finlay of Albany Public Market, Joseph Grimaldi of Ellis, and Harry Becker of Firemen. International features Sigmund Popolowski of Kiwanis, Mr. McCormick of Masons, Paul Therman of K of C, and Harry Adalan of Masters Equipment. Pee Wee lists James Mahar of Cardinals, William Laver of Braves, Robert Mackey of Pirates, and William Orylel of Tigers. Opening day is May 21 with teams to be announced after a managers meeting.

E Greenbush School Concert Tomorrow

The Junior High spring concert at the cafe auditorium on Gilligan Road Hast Greenbush starts at 8 p.m. The program includes band choir string and the Group Hammy Singer in Comedy skits. Proceeds defray transportation costs for a trip to Lincoln Center with a May 20 ballet performance and guided Lincoln Center tour.

Area Marine Harte Wounded in Vietnam Arrives at Navy Hospital

Garry Harte, 19, a Nassau Marine reported wounded in Vietnam, arrived at a Marine hospital for treatment after suffering fragmentation wounds to both arms and his right leg from a mortar round near Hill 881 in the Mekong Delta. Parents Mr and Mrs Christopher Harte were notified by telegram from Gen Wallace M Green Jr. Harte enlisted in July 1965 and trained as a Marine.
