Reduction of Mechanicville Priests Affects Two Parishes

Halfmoon attorney Joe Martino received the town Republican Club endorsement on Saturday for the November bid in New York's 29th Congressional District. Martino, a Clifton Park resident, also held Saratoga County endorsements from Saratoga Springs and Waterford in his challenge to incumbent Democrat Edward H. Pattison of West Sand Lake.

Robert D. Bilobau, 43, of Elnora, was arrested by State Police from Loudonville on a warrant for harassment. Trooper Carl Baker arraigned him before Clifton Park Town Justice Robert Jerome. He was released pending further court action.

Postmaster to receive special flag from pupils

A sixth grade class at Orenda Elementary will hand hook a 4 by 7 foot flag rug for Thomas Powers postmaster of Clifton Park’s new post office. The piece, created during bicentennial projects, consumed nearly 200 student hours and will be displayed at Route 9’s postal facility during the Orenda choral pageant.
