Senators Crush Laurels 7 To 4 In Rain Delayed Tilt

Albany clinched the two game series with a 7 to 4 victory over the Laurels as rain halted the second game. Lanky Leonsrol Gilmore pitched a complete game for Albany, allowing seven hits and recording his second win of the season. Key rallies in the third and later frames fueled Albany’s comeback, including a ninth inning homer by Mayhew and a sequence that plated multiple runs. Hertford homered for the Laurels, but the Senators surged to sweep the set and sit atop the league with Wilkes-Barre. The day’s action also noted a National Amateur Soccer pairing in New York.
