A car driven by James J. Madden 42 of 389 Eastern Ave East Greenbush struck a Niagara Mohawk utility pole on Columbia Street at 1 am Thursday causing damage. No injuries reported. Madden was involved in the accident according to police.

Albany Man Convicted in Third Degree Drug Sale

Ricardo Wise, 20, of 179 Elk St Albany, found guilty by an Albany County Court jury of third degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for selling two heroin spoons worth 50 dollars each to an undercover State Police agent on April 23 at his Elk Street home. The trial featured testimony from the purchasing officer, a backup officer, and a chemist. Wise testified in his own defense with public defender Joseph Brennan representing him.
