Woman Given Suspended Sentence in Watervliet Incident
Pearl Pettit of Troy received a ninety day suspended sentence after attempting to jump into the Hudson River on April 27 and later wrecking the Watervliet police station detention room during arraignment before City Judge William E Noonan. Pettit was warned she faces full punishment if found in Watervliet during the term. She had been treated for facial injuries after an earlier alleged attack by a Peeping Tom and later tried to jump from the Congress Street bridge with police assisting bridge attendants.
