Court Reinstates Retired Sergeant O'Brien for Duty
Supreme Court Justice Befurick ruled Sergeant James N. O'Brien of the Troy Police Department, retired over a year as physically unfit, is entitled to reinstatement. The city will appeal, staying the order. O'Brien argued proper medical examination per Local Law No 3 of 1938 was not followed before retirement.

Funeral for Dr John J Randall Held in Troy
City and county officials along with many physicians attended the funeral of Dr John J Randall superintendent of Pawling Sanitarium. The solemn requiem mass at Sacred Heart Church featured a full procession of clergy and delegates from medical and nursing groups. Burial followed at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery with Father Lenahan officiating.
