A massive landslide blocks River Road about a quarter mile north of Pleasantdale, bringing down tons of clay and numerous trees. County Highway Supt. John W. Hansen says crews will begin removal weather permitting, as heavy spring rains and thawing clay keep the road unusable. Access beyond the slide is limited to a dirt road from Speigletown to Rooihill, which is also partially blocked by another slide.
