Nassau prep flood plan law eyed for April adoption
Eight residents attended a Nassau public hearing on a proposed flood plan law affecting Kinderhook Creek and upper Nassau Lake. The town board aims to adopt on April 14 and file with the federal government to obtain flood insurance at reduced rates for local property owners. The plan imposes underground construction and sewer-regulation limits within flood zones and does not remove any businesses. The hearing aimed to fulfill legal requirements while the state plans move toward a final, limited role.
