Mechanicville Council Drives Sewage Project and Upgrades
Mechanicville leaders plan a minimum 21 inch trunk sewer line from the north side of Saratoga Avenue to Vial Avenue to relieve sewage backups. City funds may cover the work this year without tapping street repairs. The council also bids for Park Plaza sewer alterations near the new McDonald’s site and promotes flood insurance. Michael Zurlo was appointed a full time officer. 28 cellars flooded but streets remained undamaged. Rental aid applications have outpaced demand.
