New York Firm Buys Troy City Bonds at 2.10 Percent
J G White & Co of New York City bidding for It pelt and six associates purchased 1 824 000 dollars in Troy municipal bonds at 2.10 percent interest. Seven bids were opened by City Comptroller Lawrence J Collins with White offering 1 878 007 dollars, a 4 000 premium. Other bids ranged from 2.20 to 2.49 percent with premiums up to 2 734 dollars. The sale included 625 000 in high school bonds and 335 000 for street improvements. First payments begin July this year with full redemption by 2016.

Straits M Vamvakias 64 operator of the Lenox Hotel died suddenly Sunday night while visiting relatives in Portland Maine. Survivors include his widow five brothers and four sisters with funeral set for Portland Thursday. Interment in the family plot in Portland.
