Four Planets Visible In Evening Sky By Venus and Friends
Science writer James Stokley notes Venus now appears about 15 degrees above the horizon at sunset, brighter than any star or planet with magnitude minus 4.3. Jupiter near Spica in Virgo, magnitude minus 2, shines brightly while Mars and Saturn ride near Castor and Pollux in Gemini. Sirius sits low in Canis Major with Procyon nearby, Ursa Major and the Great Dipper point toward Arcturus in Bootes as Taurus fades toward the west.
