Charlton family saved from fire by smoke detector

A Charlton couple Karen and Robert Conyers Jr and their three children escaped a house blaze on Jockey Street after a smoke detector alerted them early today. A cat and dog were also evacuated with no injuries reported.

Inventory Loss Seminar Draws Regional Business Crowd

Five Schuylerville seniors join six week career program

Five Schuylerville Central School seniors begin a six week Career Investigation Program through BOCES. Barbara Malesky studies mortuary science, Fawn O'Brien nursing and social work, Roberta Ellsworth legal secretary, Barbara Sackman medical secretary, and Melissa Baldwin physical therapist assistant. Mary Reed leads the program with advisers Paula Niemczynski, Susan Walsh, Hannah Larmon, and Jeff Cahan guiding three days per week in chosen fields.
