Snow Removal Costs Residents 63 Cents Each
Troy finances snow removal with 67,196 residents paying about 63 cents each for this season. Public Works Commissioner J Lee Quigley released preliminary figures showing total costs of 42 576 63 to date for 130 miles of streets and 55 inches of snow with private contractor rentals and city equipment repairs. He notes possible additional snow and a budget overrun but calls Troy’s arrangements a bargain compared with Schenectady and Albany and cites state rental-rate controls.
