Mechanicville Public Safety directs the People Employment Program to aid housewives the elderly and handicapped with extra income. Thomas W. Noonan son of Mr and Mrs John Noonan of Stillwater attended the March 3 Ford dedication in Washington DC as assistant superintendent of construction for Turner Construction Company of Philadelphia. He is a 1970 Stillwater Central School graduate and Clarkson College of Technology alumnus. After the ceremony he moved on to Johnstown PA to assist in building a Mutual Insurance Company project.

Mechanicville District Alters Tax Rates Across Towns
Superintendent Donald Kearns announces equalization rate changes for Mechanicville Halfmoon Stillwater and Schaghtoboke in the district. Mechanicville tax would drop about 3.4 dollars with the budget unchanged. Halfmoon tax rises about 23.82 dollars while Stillwater falls 3.90 dollars. Schaghtoboke tax increases 0.31 dollars, shifting budget shares to 42 percent Mechanicville 30 percent Halfmoon 13.7 percent Stillwater and 13.9 percent Schaghtoboke compared with current 48.8 27 23.9 and 13.2.
