Shenendehowa unit ratifies tentative contract with district

Shenendehowa Civil Service unit unanimously approves a three year contract with the district granting a 17 percent raise total. The school board may ratify for 250 bus drivers janitors secretaries and nurses as early as Tuesday.

Round Lake Library Posts Record Circulation Rise in 1976

Round Lake Library reports a 12 percent rise in circulation in 1976, reaching 22 354 from 10 863 in 1966 and 16 262 in 1971. The facility expanded pre school story hours and now opens six days weekly, with schedules across many programs including classic films and community events. It marks its 80th year in 1977 under sponsorship of the Kerosene Club now the Woman's Round Lake Improvement Society.

J C Penney Co plans a mid summer opening for its Clifton Country Mall store with a tentative date of July 27. Four charged in Wilton petty larceny case at Pyramid Mall

Saratoga County deputies say four people were charged after groceries were stolen from a car at Pyramid Mall in Wilton. Jefferson Bell 20 of Wilton Mobile Park Saratoga Springs and Daniel Fuller 38 of Hudson Falls pleaded guilty and drew four days in Saratoga Correctional Facility. A 14 year old and an 18 year old faced separate outcomes. the 14 year old to family court, the 18 year old to appear later. The youths names were kept confidential.

Saratoga County Sued Over Auto Death

Ralph A. Green sues Saratoga County for 150000 in damages after his son Daniel M. Green died last November in a one car crash on County Route 65 east of Saratoga Springs. Attorney Harry D. Snyder filed the claim with county attorney Thomas Nolan last week.

Mechanicville owner wins 65 000 condemnation award

The Appellate Division upheld a 1966 condemnation award of 65 000 to Sidney Fort Jr. for his Hill Street corner store and cobblestone house. City actions, filings, and a 1973 reversal are noted with Yard changes and the later approval by the court. Fort recalls a building likely from the early 1800s and a late 1800s hardware store.

Wilton suit hearing adjourned to April in prison facility case

A state Supreme Court hearing in Wilton over the Mt. McGregor Correctional Facility was adjourned to April. Town Attorney Theodore Grey says this is the fourth adjournment in the town’s suit against the Department of Correctional Services. The town seeks a court order closing the facility opened last November and may add the Moratorium on Prison Construction as a petitioner, requesting more information from the moratorium group in court papers.
