Watervliet residents contributed 2500 to the Red Cross drive over the weekend, bringing the city total to 12500. James D McNars, chairman, announced last night that fraternal organizations representing 10 percent of the group have added 250 of their 500 quota. Special events are planned this week including a Watervliet Night at Thorns Bowling Alley and a workers meeting at City Hall. Additional contributions are expected from other organizations as canvassing continues, with early reports showing splendid group response and progress toward the top of the goal mid month.
