North Greenbush Ambulance Association plans a late time variety show at Wynanb Well Firehouse on Wednesday at 8 pm. Charles Brinalle, chairman of the association’s ways and means, will oversee the affair. Proceeds go to the association general fund.
The Flt Baptial Church plans a Parents Institute on March 8 and 9 to guide character education for children. Staff includes Dr. Ernest M. Ligan, Mrs. Evelyn Luchs, and Drs Kenneth A. Welles. sessions split into pre school to 7th grade groups with lectures on basic principles and developing the kind of person our world needs. The program will be led by Rev. Mervyn Morse and assisted by Rev. Richard Guimmings, with lectures detailing the institute’s aims and methods.
Dr Welles and Dr Ligon headline a Parents Institute program at a church public service with the RPL Russell Sage Chris Union taking part. Mrs Wynant leads worship. Planning includes Marse He Lofgren Nelson Hud Look, McAulay, Betts, Oakley, Wynant. Ligon and Lalcis bring psycho social expertise with ties to Yale and Texas programs. England reports 585 factory fatalities in 414209 accidents in a year.
The Saniatitan and Leonard Hospitals plan a postwar development survey to gauge public satisfaction with current services and gather ideas for improvement. Conducted by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute students under Jonxel Hospital Consultants, the effort is nonfundraising and aims to shape two year development plans for the community.
Local boys were entertained at a party by Troop 4 Lansingburg Girl Scouts. A mothers and daughters banquet is planned on the troop and national girl scout birthday. Girls are making a music bag for the occasion. A newly appointed troop committee includes Mrs Rankin Neat Mrs Carl Payne Mrs Carl Beck Constance Sencar and Mrs Stephen Panter.
The Cham ber of Commerce announces its annual dinner for Monday March 10 at The Hamilton Madison. Robert C. Gaven treasurer and Bristol Laboratories executive will address guests. Willam P B Kelgaard will humor the program. Clarence C Milanese chairs the dinner committee with John J Tower as toastmaster. The committee includes Lynn H Smith John P Ryan Moscoy Betram Nirenberg Alex J Allan Michael J Maloney Clark Clpperly. Gasen, a native of Winchester Illinois, is a lawyer and former War Production Board and Foreign Economic Administration official who joined Bristol Laboratories in 1945.
The Mews Club of LaSalle hosts a minstrel show cast tomorrow in the school cafeteria as part of April performances in St Marys Hall. A buffet will be served after a 2:30 p.m. rehearsal in the school library directed by Arthur G. Matthews and Vincent E. Powers, with rehearsals held weekly on Tue Thu and Sun.
A wrecking train of the Boston and Maine Railroad derailed near Hoosick Falls after striking an automobile owned by Stanley Livingston. The car stalled on Church Street and was hit as the train passed, causing no injuries though freight cars spilled grain, furniture, and carpeting. Trains were redirected around the site for roughly an hour.
Rav Branais A Kelley Chapter DAN appeals to physicians to help disabled veterans obtain proper adjudication of claims. Commander Howe notes doctors often fail to provide complete medical statements due to time or ability constraints. He praises the many physicians who assist veterans and thanks those who help. The meeting included a joint session with its auxiliary led by Mrs Thelma Warren. National Services Officer Bernara was present.
Jordan notes that at a meeting the imperinhes of re nindny government Insuranty were emphasized. Four new members were admitted: Hugh QGraber, John J. Biltpante, Charlow R. Avotte, Atle Mildred a. Brutoan. Dinner and dance planned with beef and cabbage supper. Mrs. Worran appointed auxiliary committee to work with Sol M. Bralman, general chairman.
