Nassau residents endure a month of flooding as Valatie Kill Creek overran banks behind Alyce Senrick’s century old home. Snow and sub zero temps left the garage ice bound with a six inch base, sump pumps running nonstop, and water invading the crawlspace and basement.

The Rensselaer Knights of Columbus host a St Patrick's Day dinner on March 13 with corn beef and cabbage served from 7 30 p.m. Hank Reilly supervises the meal and Al Ciampi provides music from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Organizers are Jack Jim and Charles Spath. Members must reserve by March 10.
RENSSELAER The Rensselaer Mothers Club will meet Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the home of Mrs. James Donnelly 7 John Sr. The program by Mrs. Edmund Henk will discuss Edith Roosevelt wife of President Theodore Roosevelt as the club continues studies of presidential spouses this year.
Albany Area Red Cross and American Heart Association sponsor a two for one blood pressure screening with bloodmobile stops across five towns during the week of March 8. Volunteers are needed. open to donors and non donors. Locations include Albany Castleton Catskill Greenwich and Ticonderoga with specific times listed.
Berlin area churches join Taconic Lebanon Valleys Association for 13th annual Lenten services Sundays at 7 30 p m in various churches with a post service coffee hour. First service March 7 at Brainard United Methodist Church led by Rev Hal Meyers. Three Good Friday services scheduled noon to 3 p m and 7 30 p m at listed churches.
Two masked men aged 18 to 20 robbed Albany Quality Inn on Watervliet Avenue Extension at 11:30 p.m. One brandished brass knuckles and the other claimed a gun pocketed a $273 cash haul. Night auditor Michael Cantin was ordered to surrender the money as the pair fled in an unknown direction.
In Canaan Berkshire Farm school board denied a fulltime post to substitute Josephine Rossi. The Education Department ruled Rossi could be dismissed but awarded 30 days pay and termination notice. Decision issued February 2 by Ambach.
East Greenbush hosts free morning and evening blood pressure clinics this Thursday. From 9 to 11 a.m. at St Mary's School Clinton Heights and from 7 to 9 p.m. at United Methodist Church on Gilligan and Hays Roads.
Two teenagers were arrested after a Friday sniping incident along the Thruway south of Catskill New York. A 15 year old was placed in parents custody while a 16 year old faced first degree reckless endangerment charges and bail set at 500 dollars. No injuries were reported and identities were withheld. A bus two station wagons and a camper truck were hit by bullets. Three daughters of Joy Siemenski were splashed with glass when a bullet struck their wagon.
