State Tax Assessment Bureau Urged By Real Estate Groups
Albany real estate boards urged the Legislature to enact the Bewley-Younglove bill creating a division of assessment review in the executive department to check real property assessments. They argued the State Tax Commission should not influence legislation and called for impartial reviews, citing widespread opposition to proposed rent control measures and noting vacant stores as evidence of market conditions.
