RENSSELAER Ed Nick Nicholas was feted at a testimonial dinner at St John’s after a 33 year tenure as St John’s academy head coach. He led four sports with a 341 208 basketball record 72 26 football, track titles in 1971 1972 and never a losing baseball season. General Motors donated a 1976 Vega to Castleton-on-Hudson High School for driver education and shop classes.

Flooding closes Route 7 near Vermont border
Severe flooding shuts New York State Route 7 near the Vermont line with a culvert bridge washout by Smith's Gulf in Hoosick leaving an eight foot hole. Severe storm rips through Hoosick Falls causing four fires
A severe thunder and hail storm struck Hoosick Falls Tuesday night, igniting four fires, snapping power lines, and splitting trees. Two Teens Drowned in Lake Luzerne Rescue Finds Bodies
