Nun of the Order Dies After Fifty Years in Albany
Sister Mercedes, formerly Catherine Hillis of Watervliet, died yesterday at St Peter’s Hospital Albany after more than fifty years in the order. She joined March 19 1891 in Rensee laer and supervised supplies at St Peter’s Hospital. Surviving sisters are Mrs Elin Mullin Mrs Edward O’Hearn and Miss Thereas HinIs of Watervliet. The article notes the first recorded kidnap letter dated July 8 1524.
