Senate Fails Soft Treatment for Dodd Censure Debate
The Senate rebuked Thomas J. Dodd amid a censure clash. Ribicoff defended Dodd as colleagues weighed a mild admonition while Dodd, absent from the floor, argued the issue centered on money in politics and personal debts. Other nonvoting members included Bayh Inouye and Pastore among a varied panel.
