Permit D&H To Abandon Trackage
The Interstate Commerce Commission authorized the Delaware & Hudson Railroad to abandon 10.6 miles of trackage in Saratoga County along the Albany to Rouses Point main line. About 1.1 miles will be rebuilt to connect the Mechanicville Schenectady main line with the Schenectady Ballston Spa main line. The ICC said the move will cut unnecessary track and not harm service, rejecting a protest by the Railway Labor Executives Association.
