Summer School At Troy High To Run Mid Summer Session
Troy Swimmer High School announces a cat class summer session with registration on June 26 27 and June 30 from 8 80 am to 1 pm at Troy High School Burdett avenue. The program runs July 1 to August 19 with exams on August 20 21. Enfante assistant principal acts as principal. Courses include English math science history foreign languages and driver education. A written recommendation from the home principal is required. A $3 registration fee applies.

Ironworkers reject offer of contract in northern states
The ironworkers union rejected a proposed two year contract and a 20 cent registration fee amid stalled talks and upcoming sessions in Albany Syracuse Rochester and Niagara Falls. State mediator Ernest W Lanoue and federal conciliator Mr Enfanto will assist as unions and contractors dispute wage scales and apprenticeship obligations.

Mrs. Allen Maynor was reelected president of the United Lutheran Church Women at Gilead Lutheran Church Center Brunswick. Other officers named include Miss Gladys Qwons vice president Mrs Floyd Wagner secretary Mrs Edson Keeleed treasurer and Mrs George Lockrow statistical secretary. Barbara DeReemer missionary in India spoke of her experiences in India during the social hour refreshments were served by Mrs Allen Hayner and Mrs Irvin Derrick. The final study class on Japan featured speakers Mrs Kreiger Mrs Dyson Miss Dorahy Luger and others with a Japanese style dance and choral numbers observed. Next regular meeting set for the home of Mrs Anoist Hayner with Sukiyaki prepared by Miss Grange rood.
