State motor vehicle bureau reports May license suspensions
Willams Hults state motor vehicles commissioner announced May actions under the financial security act. Three hundred seventy two auto owners had licenses and registrations suspended or revoked for lack of insurance. About 17,548 registrations and plates were revoked for 30 days for lapse in coverage. Non-resident motorists losing driving privileges totaled 2,913. Some drivers voluntarily surrendered 26,478 sets of plates to avoid suspension and regain them when coverage resumes.
