A command pilot and West Point graduate, Beebe rose to deputy chief of the air staff and director of operations after arriving in Australia. He is son of Brig. Gen. Polo Rivalry Turns to Accidental Skirmish Near Scho Field
Beebe and Craw, once West Point polo teammates, clash in a dogged rivalry. After a midair collision at 12 000 feet and Beebe's escape from a jammed cockpit at 1900 feet, Craw bailed earlier at 9000 feet. Two weeks later Beebe knocks Craw from his horse with a Willow pellet during polo at Scho Field Barracks. Beebe, a field minded staff officer, notes they competed fiercely with little chance of lasting harm.

Enrollments Open for State War School
Enrollments are being accepted at the Troy State War Training School in the former Earl & Wilson building at Broadway and Seventh Avenue. Classes in elementary blueprint reading and shop mathematics run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7 to 9. Officials say there is room for more students and new enrollments will be received any day or evening. The school’s eligible enrollment recently peaked since programs began, and a new jig, fixture and die making course finished its first week, likely becoming a permanent feature. If interest grows, an advanced blueprint reading class may be organized later.
