City Plans To Use Rents For Back Taxes
The city of Troy plans to use rents from properties in arrears to pay back taxes after a Supreme Court order allowed rent collection in such cases. The city already collects rents in about six cases where receivership actions finished and ownership lies with the city. Fredoricky C. Silley, corporation counsel, said funds will be applied to taxes. Foreclosure actions are under way against about ten parcels in the city with delinquent taxes.
