Rep. William T. Byrne praised Watervliet residents at the Flag Day parade and flag dedication ceremony. Thousands from Watervliet and nearby Troy observed a large procession with Army units, police, Boy Scouts, Red Cross volunteers, and Polish American groups, culminating in a 35 foot flagpole dedication funded by the Elks. Political Stage Today on Labor Clauses and War Seizures

DAYED LAWRENCE examines wartime labor provisions and penalties. He notes that thirty days notice of strike is required in war related plants but with no penalties for noncompliance. The piece argues that penalties are weak and seizures may be used to leverage concessions before peace ends, with unions likely to resume campaign contributions in 1946 and 1948.
