Miss Sarah F. Jones Succumbs After Long Illness

Miss Sarah F. Jones of Waterford died Wednesday at St Marys Hospital after a long illness. She lived at 106 4th Street and worked over 20 years for Reis Manufacturing Co before retiring. She was a communicant of St Marys Church. survivors include three nephews William D Vander voort Jr Waterford and John Leonard J Terrell of Cohoes. Funeral from Finn Funeral Home 103 Third Street tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. to St Marys Church for Requiem High Mass. burial in St Marys Cemetery.

Des Moines may pay 850 for lost mouse

Des Moines faces a city loss of 850 dollars after the legal department advised payment to Joyce Wright who sued for 2156 dollars claiming her 4 year old son Ward needed painful antirabies shots after city workers misplaced a rabid mouse. The rodent was captured last August but was not sent for testing.

Bonds Sold At 4.2 Percent In City Bond Sale

Halsey Stuart & Co of New York City represented by Troy Savings Bank won yesterday’s $1,484,000 city bond sale in City Hall with a 4.20 percent bid for $1,490,232.80, narrowly ahead of Marine Midland Bank of Troy. Other bidders included Union National Bank, State Bank of Albany, Roosevelt and Cross, and Smith Barney. The issue funds street work, water and sewer reconstruction, demolitions, and purchase of machinery and vehicles.
