Police report vandalism across Rensselaer over Memorial Day weekend. Ten to fifteen windows broken at Van Rensselaer Elementary School, two basement screens bent, a playground fence cut at Tracy Street. A fire damaged a vacant East Greenbush house on Phillips Road with no injuries.

Separate crashes injure 2 in Rensselaer over Memorial Day weekend
Police report two separate accidents injured a boy and a man from Rensselaer. Eleven year old Robert J. Brown was thrown from a bicycle on Glen Street and treated at Albany Memorial Hospital. Albert T. Pickens drove a car that hit Brown. Willard F. Colville was taken to Albany Medical Center with minor injuries after his eastbound car struck a pole on Red Mill Road following a collision with the Red Mill Road bridge side.
