Murder Trial Slated for Wednesday

Wick the June term of Rensselaer County Court opens Monday before Judge Hersl E Clinton. District Attorney Earle Wiley says the state will call the trial of George W. Donaldson on Wednesday. Donaldson, a parolee from Clinton Prison, is charged with killing Edward Simp on June 23 1934 at the Pawling Sanitarium where both were employed. Attorney Philip J Cirillo says he will be ready to proceed next week and the defense plans to argue Donaldson is mentally deficient. No commission for sanity examination has been requested yet, though an order earlier allowed defense access to records at the State hospital for the Insane at Poughkeepsie regarding Donaldson’s mother, who died there, indicating a possible defense reliance on mental incapacity.
