Extra Gas Applications To Be Filed Early
Albany District OPA officials urged truck operators and others to file extra gas supplement applications well before current ration expirations. Applications must be processed at the central Albany center to avoid delays, with winners receiving coupons by mail. Officials noted a 35 day processing period and stressed obtaining a war certificates from ODT to present at the rationing board.

May 75 closes First Fighter Command observation posts
Hitehall Claude E Baker reports that effective May 75 all observation posts in the First Fighter Command were closed and activities ended. Each observer will receive a certificate of honorable service. Fred Whalen and family receive word their son Raymond Whalen G 5A is returning to the states after being wounded in action. Various local notices follow including a musical program at the First Baptist Church, a solemn Mass at Gur Lade of Angels Cemetery, and Memorial Day services in Riverside Park with remarks by Rev. Lucien H. Kerns and speeches by Rev. Thomas Merride and Clinton Nestans. The events were presented by Spanish American War Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion.
