Faith Must Be Peace Basis Declared at Military Mass
Rt. Rev. Edward J. Magina told soldiers at a memorial Day field mass in Washington Park that lasting peace must rest on faith and religion. He warned that without God, justice and human rights lose their meaning and future peace remains an armed truce. The ceremony blended formal Mass rites with military pageantry, drawing thousands as LaSalle Institute cadets and New York Guard members formed the color and discipline around the altar.
