Korean Reds Recruit Women For Service In Combat Zone
Washington reports North Korean forces recruiting about 50,000 women for service in a combat area. A military spokesman could not confirm if the women are to be used in combat or whether they are South or North Korean. He termed the move a last desperate fling by the Communists and remained cautiously pessimistic. A Navy spokesman noted South Korean naval units, likely motor torpedo boats, destroyed a Communist artillery post at Pelmida, marking their second reported strike. Earlier reports said they sank 12 North Korean supply boats bound for action amid fevered tension.

Auts Concern Drops Car Theft Charges
A phage of grand larceny against Gerald Nadler, 90, of 250 Firels Sliver, was dismissed in Dov Police Court at the request of the complaint. Nadler was arrested Friday, July 14, charged with theft of a car owned by Whitborck Motors Co of 2793 Sixth Avenue, AL. The charge was dismissed after Justice Thomas J. O Connie ruled Nadler had never been in possession as double and that the car was in the custody of a "ark." The case was dismissed and the matter referred to district attorney Richard E. Rolin. West Springfield, Mass, residents return home after being called to Latham by the death of Mrs Nettie Padget’s sister, Anna Whiley, daughter of Mr and Mrs George Whitney. An auto accident at Grove Street seriously injures Mrs. Allen Feltinite and others in the area. Several residents, including Richard Aden, Allan Knipe, George Hathaway, James Feltinite, John Phillips, were arrested for two weeks. Mrs Allan Gallows and Mrs Richard Hewitt return from visit with relatives. The funeral of Mrs Gallaway’s brother is noted. Willard Williams, Varn Densmore and others are mentioned in local notices. Rev. Fred Jonag of Waterford Methodist Church will preach at Calgary Methodist Church at 10:45 am tomorrow. Subject will be “Faith, Steadying Resources.” Mrs Moiton Dou will be soloist.
