Two Hoosick Falls dispatchers resign amid village tensions

Two Hoosick Falls fire house dispatchers, William Stuka and John Button, quit citing general reasons amid ongoing feuds between the fire department and the village board. Hoosac Tunnel Vent Fan Fails Workers Overcome

One of two large ventilation fans failed in the five mile Hoosac Tunnel as four railroad workers were overcome by diesel exhaust while a Boston and Maine crew attempted to repair an air brake hose. The 101 car coal train was halted inside the tunnel beneath the Berkshires for about an hour.
