Wiley Won't Comment On Moving To Run Independent
A rumor claimed County and City Republican committees designated Timothy O'Brien Jr for the fall ticket while Joseph Mulholland was the expected choice. Wiley said he has no plans to run and did not attend the conference, noting uncertainty about party endorsement for an independent bid. The report suggested Democratic backing but Wiley denied involvement and said he was elsewhere during the meeting.
