Menands firemen were called yesterday at 8 am to a brush fire on the property of the Albany Car Wheel Co at Jue 18h Broadway. The blaze ran along the New York Central Railroad embankment. Firemen used hose and extinguishing gear to control the flames.
Patrolman Joseph B West will receive the Hygecoup's Model of Honor for bravery above duty. He rescued a woman from the river near Me Cetera, dragging her to safety despite danger from high voltage. The award was recommended by Chief Wy Dole and Mayor John Pureedli, with a ceremony at the Sheraton.
Arthur Ehner Lesson a former resident of Mechanicville died Saturday at his home in Columbus Georgia after a long illness. The funeral and interment will be held today in Columbus. He is survived by his widow Mae Reigell, two sons Arthur Jr. and James, one brother George Lesson, four sisters and four grandchildren.
Three wills were admitted to probate in the Rensselaer County Surrogate Court by Judge Maurice D. Ysenbergh. The estates include Augusta C. Sebvule died May 11, 1958. Charles C. Pickering died May 2, 1952. Isaac W. W. Conklin died May 20, 1951. The will of Augusta G. Sella allocates more than $10,000 to six nephews and a niece: Grimm, Crossways, Royal, William Grimm, Harold Grimm, Frederick Grimm, Rev. Theodore Bachmann, Dr George W. Bachmann Jr., and Selena Grimm. Attorneys listed: Aldrich, Guy, Broderick & Simon. estate values under $10,000 real and under $200 personal for Pickering. Charles C. Pickering’s address given as 208 Luke Ave. Shanon & Shanthons are the attorneys. Conklin’s estate totals $3,000 real and $1,000 personal, with bequests to Bes ae Hournier of St. Regis Falls. attorney J. Howard Melaney.
A report to the Troy Nutective Bureau states a home entered on 22671 Uh Ate. Two wrist watches valued at SHO and $100 cash were stolen along with an electric razor worth $30 and $35 in cash. Plainclothesman John F. Berkery is investigating.
