Restored gravestone marks memory of Troy children
The 153 year old marker for Sallie Wilbur and her brother Benjamin Wilbur, children of early Troy settlers, was reset at the First Baptist Church amid city church cooperation. The stone, found during ground work near State and Third Streets, is preserved with a history note detailing the Wilbur and Surnburger lineages and Troy’s pioneer era.
