Mrs. Chiang Kai shek wife of the Chinese generalissimo returned from the United States and Canada and said her plane carrying her home nearly landed in Japanese territory after following the beam of a Japanese air field in Burma. The American crew piloted craft paused on a landing, but the pilot had a hunch and diverted to Chungking saving them from being state guests of Japan. After seven hours of continuous flight at 24 000 feet she said she didn’t care where they landed.
