Albany Man Awarded $250 for False Arrest
An Albany man, Bass, received a $250 award from the New York Court of Claims after claiming unlawful arrest and detention by State Police. The case tied to an alleged robbery in Nassau and an earlier 1944 indictment in Rensselaer County. Bass, a WWII veteran, was involved with attorney Morris Zuckmag. State authorities handed him to the armed forces in 1944, later leading to dismissal of the indictment in county court amid doubts about his identity.
