A blaze in Lansingburg leveled an apartment building causing $150,000 in damage and injuring two firefighters. Reported chaos saw residents escaping as flames spread quickly, with witnesses noting shock and orderly evacuations amid thick smoke.
Dr Hogold reports the death of Dr H A Green in New York City after a long illness. Educated at New York University and Hamburg, he held tuberculosis and public health posts in Mounts, Youngstown, and at San Hium. About 53,000 pounds of tin, 99,471 pounds of other metals, and nearly 0.5 million pounds of paper were gathered. Over 9,000 books and 10,000 pieces of cloth were prepared for relief efforts. About 37,000 piec es of pudding covers and many farm tasks were completed for communal good.
