Watervliet Senator Submits Bill on City Aid Increase

Watervliet Senator Feterse Dalessandro introduces a Democratic program bill to raise per capita state aid from 6.75 to 10 dollars, aiming to boost funds for cities and villages and pressure the Legislature to increase local subsidies. The plan mirrors calls from the State Conference of Mayors for 75 million dollars annually and parallels AFL CIO urging higher aid. The measure also includes a second bill limiting new municipal or school district expenditures unless funded by the state.
