London AP reports Sir Roderick Jones, longtime executive head of Reuters News Agency, died at his London home after a long kidney illness. Born in Manchester, he joined Reuters as a cub reporter and led a drastic reorganization turning the agency into a modern international news cooperative.

Police Probe $7 Theft From Apartment of Helen Collett

Vermonters In N Y Must Pay Full Tax
New York employers with Vermont resident workers must withhold the full New York State personal income tax from wages after January 15, 1962. The ruling, announced by Tax Commissioner Joseph H Murphy, requires employers to adjust withholding by March 31, 1982, covering pay from January 15 to February 1, 1982.
