Soldier Hart Reported Killed in Action in Germany
A War Department telegram to Stillwater parents confirms Private Hart, born in Stillwater and a Sudwater High School valedictorian in 1842, killed in action in Germany. He served overseas since Oct. 1, 1944, with prior stations at Camp Livingston Louisiana and Fort Benning Georgia. He belonged to the Stillwater Methodist Church. Survivors include his grandmother Mrs Addie Humphrey of Manchester Vermont and several aunts and uncles.
